Access guidance
- Respite seating There are benches at the entrance but there is no seating inside the house. You are welcome to use walking sticks or folding stools with seat attachments, provided that they have rubber stoppers.
- Manual wheelchairs are available to borrow free of charge for the duration of a visit. They must be pre-booked by contacting the Specialist Sales team on +44 (0)303 123 7324 or specialistsales@rct.uk. Mobility scooters can be used in the gardens, and are permitted inside Clarence House providing they are compatible with the lift – a platform stair lift measuring 130cm in depth by 80cm in width, with a weight limit of 250kg provides access into the House.
- There are no toilets at Clarence House. The nearest accessible toilets are in St James's Park, opposite the entrance to Clarence House. There is a charge to use the public toilets, however the accessible toilets and baby care facilities remain free of charge and can be accessed using a radar key provided by the attendant.
- Assistance animals Assistance animals are welcome and water is available on request.
- Concessionary rates are available for you if you have a disability and an accompanying companion is admitted free of charge.
- Verbal description tours Introductory and themed Verbal Description Tours are available. Tours last 45 minutes and must be pre-booked. Please contact the Learning Bookings team on +44 (0)20 7766 7323 or learning@rct.uk for further details.
- Induction loops The ticket desk and shop counters are equipped with induction loops. Hearing aids should be switched to the T position. Guided Tours All visits to Clarence House are guided and tours last for 45 minutes. Guides can wear portable induction loops on request. Please ask on arrival at Clarence House.
