Access guidance
- There are two main entrances into the building – Halford Street and Rutland Street – which each have a set of glass double doors that open outwards automatically. To get to the Circle, Level 1 or Level 2, you can either use the stairs located next to our Stage Door Reception, or just outside Theatre Door 3 or Theatre Door 4. If you need to access the upper floors by lift, please speak to a member of our Visitor Experience Team.
- You can find toilets on all levels of the building. On the ground floor (Stalls level), male, female and accessible toilets are located between our Stage Door Reception and Box Office, and close to our café. There are two more accessible toilets, one by Theatre Door 3 and one by Theatre Door 4. The accessible toilet by Theatre Door 4 is also a Changing Places Toilet, with adult changing table and assistive hoist. Please note you will need to bring your own hoist straps to use this facility. On the Mezzanine (Circle), Level 1 and Level 2, male, female, gender neutral and accessible toilets are located near the stairwell, over the bridge from the Theatre.
- Audio Described performances feature live, verbal commentary on key visual aspects of the show for audience members who are registered sight impaired.
- An infra-red and induction loop hearing system is available at all performances in our Theatre and Studio Theatre for anyone who is hard-of-hearing, enabling them to amplify and adjust the volume to a suitable level. These performances are presented with British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation throughout, delivered by an interpreter on stage. At Captioned performances, the actors' spoken words are converted into visible text via display screens on stage.
- Dementia Friendly performances are thoughtfully tailored to support audience members living with Dementia, their families and carers, including small changes to the show and the theatre space. Relaxed performances are open to anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed performance environment, and include a number of adaptations to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable environment for everyone.
