Eden Project

Overview
The Eden Project, an educational charity, connects us with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work towards a better future. Our visitor destination in Cornwall, UK, is nestled in a huge crater. Here, massive Biomes housing the largest rainforest in captivity, stunning plants, exhibitions and stories serve as a backdrop to our striking contemporary gardens, summer concerts and exciting year-round family events. Registered charity number 1093070 (The Eden Trust). Money raised supports our transformational projects and learning programmes.

Access guidance
- We welcome all types of mobility vehicles and we also have a number of manual wheelchairs (approx 40) which are free of charge and available to borrow on a first come first served basis (*booking isn't necessary for the manual chairs*). These chairs are stored in the accessible parking areas Apple 1 & 2. We have six powered chairs (subject to operational availability) which are available to book in advance; we recommend one month's notice to avoid disappointment. The weight limit for these chairs is 21 stone. If you would like to book a powered chair please call the Box Office Team on 01726 811911.
- We have three access designated car parks in Apple 1, Apple 2 and Banana. These are not solely limited to those who are in possession of a Blue Badge but can also be utilised by those who have mobility issues, require a wheelchair or have organised access assistance. In addition to this we can also offer closer parking to Park-and-ride bus stops, which take a direct route to the Visitor Centre and, if appropriate, we can organise a member of the Eden Team to pick you up from your car and take you straight to the Visitor Centre.
- All toilets on site are easily accessible and offer accessible facilities. They are located in Banana coach park, the Visitor Centre (on the left as you come in), The Core (closed to visitors – except for school groups – until 25 May 2018 for a major refurbishment) and in the Link Building between the Biomes. Our accessible toilets in the Visitor Centre and Link are equipped with the RoomMate device, which plays a bespoke audio description allowing blind and visually impaired visitors to navigate the space.
- Assistance dogs are welcome at Eden and water is available for them around the site
- If you have personal assistants to help you, there is no admission charge for them.
- There is a Braille guidebook translation available to borrow while visiting Eden, and an MP3 version available via email: please call 01726 818558 or email lreid@edenproject.com.
- A hearing loop is available at the access ticketing booth (till number 13) located in the Visitor Centre at arrival. It will be shown by the T and ear symbol sign on the desk.
- We offer a scheme for people who experience mobility or sensory impairments. We have an excellent team of volunteers to assist visitors around the project. There is no charge for this service. In order to ensure that there is a volunteer available please book at least two weeks in advance by telephone on 01726 818558 or email lreid@edenproject.com. When on site a member of staff is always close at hand to offer you all/any assistance required.
