We offer a concession ticket and complimentary access companion ticket for disabled visitors. No proof of disability or need is required. For D/deaf and hard of hearing visitors we run regular BSL tours throughout the year and a Plain English script of our audio tour is available to borrow. Blind & partially-sighted visitors can take a descriptive audio guide or pre-book a descriptive tour with a Vocaleyes trained guide. We have recently been reaccredited as Autism Friendly by the National Autistic Society. We are fully wheelchair accessible and assistance animals are welcome

Access guidance
- Respite seating A visit to Buckingham Palace lasts approximately 2-3 hours. Seating is available in most rooms along the visitor route, on the West Terrace and in the garden. You are welcome to use walking sticks or folding stools with seat attachments, provided that they have rubber stoppers. Folding stools can be borrowed and are available upon request, subject to availability.

Mobility aids Wheelchairs Manual wheelchairs are available to borrow, free of charge but subject to availability, for the duration of a visit. They must be pre-booked by contacting the Specialist Sales team +44 (0)303 123 7324 or specialistsales@rct.uk. You can use your own wheelchair provided it's compatible with the lifts inside Buckingham Palace. The lifts measure 148cm in depth by 94 cm in width with a weight limit of 500kg; and 160cm in depth by 94cm in width with a weight limit of 750kg. Mobility scooters Mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs are welcome and can be used in the Quadrangle and the Garden, and are permitted inside the Palace providing they are compatible with the lifts. The lifts measure 148cm in depth by 94 cm in width with a weight limit of 500kg; and 160cm in depth by 94cm in width with a weight limit of 750kg. If you have a Class 3 vehicle you will be asked to set the speed limiter to 4mph. Manual wheelchairs are available for transfer if required. Rollators Rollators (wheeled walkers) are available to borrow, free of charge but subject to availability, for the duration of a visit. They must be pre-booked by contacting the Specialist Sales team +44 (0)303 123 7324 or specialistsales@rct.uk. Folding stools are also available to borrow; these are issued on a first come first served basis and are not available to book in advance, please ask a member of staff on the day of your visit. Access There are six steps at the Ambassadors' Entrance, the main visitor entrance to the Palace, and 47 steps on the Grand Staircase leading up to the State Rooms.
- Assistance animals Assistance animals are welcome and water is available on request.
- Concessionary rates are available for you if you have a disability and an accompanying companion is admitted free of charge.
- Audio Tour A complimentary descriptive audio tour is available in English. Non-descriptive multimedia tours are also available in: English French German Spanish Italian Japanese Chinese Brazilian Portuguese Russian A family tour is also available.
- Induction loops The ticket sales desks, shop till counters and the multimedia tour collection and return points are equipped with induction loops. Hearing aids should be switched to the T position. A complimentary multimedia tour is available in: British Sign Language English French German Spanish Italian Japanese Chinese Brazilian Portuguese Russian A Family tour is also available. The multimedia tour handsets are T-coil compatible and equipped with volume control. Neck loops are also available on request. BSL video tour BSL video tours are available to borrow free of charge. The device can be collected from the multimedia tour desk at the start of the visit. If you are visiting on the access route please request a device at the time of booking.
