Access Card notes
Anyone travelling by air can ask their airline directly for special assistance around ALL airports. At present no proof is required to request help. It is VITAL that you PREBOOK assistance with your airline before travelling - the way to do this is often found on the Passenger Information section of the booking process. You provide your information and then it usually has a dropdown or tick box that says something along the lines of 'needs special assistance'. Pre booking also means that assistance is in place at both ends of your journey - staff at each airport will be notified to expect you and will meet you at the plane once landed. They will also be expecting you for your return flight. Remember it's always better to over request help and then say you don't need it on the day, than to turn up and find there is no one available to help you. And please remember that while some airports do recognise the Access Cards, if they are understaffed and/or extremely busy they may not be able to help you if you just turn up without booking.
This provider is "Named and Famed". This means that it has been highlighted by feedback from multiple Access Card holders who have used their card to gain access or a discount. The information provided in this listing is sourced directly from the provider’s publicly available information.

Access guidance
- Accessible check-in kiosks are available throughout the departures level of Terminals 1 and 3 and can be identified by the navigational keypad located on the right side of the kiosk touch screen. Many airlines offer an accessible self-service check-in option. Wheelchair and mobility assistance is provided by your airline. Arrangements should be made directly with your airline at least 48 hours before you travel. Be sure to advise your airline about any specific assistance or equipment you may need to travel through the airport or onboard the aircraft. Self-service wheelchairs are available for your use from designated areas of the terminals, without pre-arrangement. Wheelchairs feature handlebars, arm rests, footrests and wheel locks. We're committed to providing an enjoyable and stress-free experience for all passengers at Toronto Pearson. New charging stations for electric wheelchairs and mobility devices are now available in Terminals 1 and 3. In-terminal shuttle service is available after security for departing, arriving, and connecting passengers requiring assistance to and from their gates. Find shuttle service pick up points by locating the purple "Wait here for mobility assistance" signs in both terminals, located immediately after security for Departures and after you exit the jet bridge on Arrivals.
- All washrooms and family washrooms at Toronto Pearson include wheelchair accessible toilets. In addition to these accessible toilets, we also have two assisted changerooms.
- Aira is an app that uses technology and human assistance to give those with sight loss the choice to navigate the airport independently. Using the video capabilities of a smart phone or optional video-equipped smart glasses, in combination with Aira's iOS or Android App, passengers are connected to Aira-trained professionals who provide them with on-demand, personalized access to visual information to help them navigate their environment. BlindSquare uses Smart Beacons, small Bluetooth devices, to enable GPS-based navigation and greater independence for persons with sight loss as they journey through the airport. BlindSquare is available for passengers departing from Terminals 1 and 3. BlindSquare is a self-voicing app for iOS that provides verbal information on a user's location and surroundings. At Toronto Pearson, navigation through BlindSquare is made possible by Smart Beacons (low energy Bluetooth devices) marking routes for all departures. The beacons are placed along a path of travel from curb to gate.
- All counters equipped with a hearing loop are marked with the universal hearing loop sign.
