Tudor House is Southampton's most important historic building, reveling over 800 years of history in one fascinating location at the heart of the Old Town. The timber-framed building facing St Michael's Square was built in the late 15th Century, with King John's Palace, an adjacent Norman house accessible from Tudor House Garden, dating back a further 300 years. Access guidance
- Tudor House is accessible for wheelchair users, including the café, toilets, and classroom. The only public areas in the building which are not accessible to people with mobility impairment or wheelchair users, is the basement, as it is accessed by steep steps. Outside, some areas of the garden and King John's Palace are also not accessible to wheelchair users due to steep steps and The attic, which isn't accessible due to steep steps. There are platform lifts to enable access to the upstairs of the house. Please be aware that larger mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs cannot use these lifts due to size and weight limitations. Please do contact us in advance of your visit to confirm that the lifts are available for use. Due to fire safety regulations, only two wheelchairs are able to access the upstairs of the house at any one time. We offer free admission for those accompanying visitors with disabilities.

- Toilets, including accessible toilets and baby change facilities can be found through the café and at the entrance to the Work Room, through the garden.
