Wicksteed Park

Overview
Wicksteed Park, is wholly owned by Wicksteed Charitable Trust & is a Grade II English Heritage Listed Park & Garden. Come join us this winter as Wicky's Play Factory is always open! Wicky's Play Factory isn't just another soft play centre in Northamptonshire; it's where fun meets imagination, and memories are crafted. Whether you're a local or visiting Kettering, it promises an experience like no other. Dive into the world of Wicky's Play Factory today! Note: You must be 8 years old or younger to be able to enter Wicky's Play Factory. A park wouldn't be a park without a Traditional Playground, and as our founder, Charles Wicksteed, invented the world's first swing and slide, we have plenty to play on! Swings, roundabouts and slides, what more could you want? Mums and Dads, you can sit back and have a jolly good natter as the kids run around in one of the largest free Traditional Playground in Europe. The Heritage play area boasts a replica of Charles Wicksteed's first wooden slides, see-saws and an old playground rocking horse which was restored to its former glory after being rescued from a ditch near Margate where it had been abandoned and left to rust. The Witch's Hat, which was originally invented almost 100 years ago by Charles Wicksteed has also made a come-back in recent years. With what was believed to have been the last of the 12ft high rides in Britain being removed from playgrounds in the mid-1980's, we were thrilled to receive our new Witches Hat that was created especially for us, allowing us to keep more of the history of our park alive at the home of children's play. The Traditional Playground follows our park opening times. Experience more than just a day trip at Wicksteed Park by immersing yourself in the great outdoors! Opt for a memorable staycation by setting up camp amidst our picturesque surroundings. With breathtaking views of our serene lake, camping at Wicksteed Park offers a unique blend of adventure and relaxation.

Access guidance
- Unfortunately, we do NOT offer wheelchair hire facility at this time. Although care has been taken to ensure grounds and pathways are accessible, our rural location and farm grounds do mean we have uneven pathways, rough terrain, and hard grounds (including the car park). Please take care whilst walking around at all times. Some wheelchair users may find our terrain unsuitable in some areas. With most of our rides, mobility scooters should be left outside the building. If there is a specific accessibility requirement in relation to a mobility scooter needing to be brought to the boarding point, the guest should speak to a member of staff.
- We offer a number of spaces on a first come, first served basis for those who have a Blue Badge identifying a mobility issue. We do ask that the owner of the blue badge be present in the vehicle when parking with their badge present and on display. Disabled Parking is situated in both car parks. Parking is charged per car.
- A number of accessible toilets are located around the park: Heritage Zone- opposite reception Thrill Zone Splash Zone Reception As a paying guest, there are also accessible toilets inside Wicky's Play Factory.
- All assistance dogs are welcome to Wicksteed Park However, due to our unique environment, the following requirements apply: Owners must be in control of their animal at all times. The animal must remain on a lead whilst inside the Park. The animal cannot be left unattended at any time. Animals are not permitted to enter a ride carriage (Excluding the Railway). Whilst we do not have a designated area for animals to expel waste, we require all animal owners to dispose of any waste immediately.
