Access guidance
- There are handrails where appropriate.
- Wheelchair users now have access to the ground floor and to the first floor via a specially installed lift. A DVD of the upper floors and the attic is available to view while at the Museum, and shows the Artists and Scientists rooms on the second floor. This is updated every year to show the year's special exhibition in the attic above. Records of exhibitions from earlier years may also be seen.
- Disabled parking is available on Church Street, which is situated 100 yards away from the museum. Wheelchair users can also use the bus bay to Grape Lane from Church Street as a drop off point. This is situated 50 yards from the museum.
- There is an accessible toilet on site.
- Assistant dogs are welcomed at the museum, but must come with formal identification and a vest.
- Large print guides of rooms are available to use throughout the tour of the museum.
