Access guidance
- If you have any particular issues with queueing, our team will be happy to help.
- We provide free wheelchair and electric scooter hire, but a refundable deposit of £25 is required. However, it is important to pre-book as they cannot be hired on the same day. A wheelchair lift is also available at the Realm of the Red Ape house for individuals who may have difficulty using the ramp.
- The zoo provides accessible toilet facilities with changing spaces that include a hoist, adjustable bed, and sink.
- Assistance dogs that are registered with an accredited training provider are allowed on site at the zoo. However, assistance dogs in training are not permitted. It is important to keep assistance dogs on a lead at all times and under strict control, as some animals may become spooked. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs if any incidents occur.
- Visitors with disabilities are entitled to bring one carer free of charge when purchasing a full price ticket for themselves or their child. It is necessary to present supporting documentation at the Ticket Sales windows to collect the carer ticket, such as a Disability Allowance Letter, PIP letter, Access Pass, or any other relevant documentation issued by the local council that verifies the need for a carer.
