Ingleton Nature Trail and Caves

Overview
Ingleborough Estate Nature Trail is the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales finest limestone scenery, leading to Ingleborough Cave (1 1/4 miles), Trow Gill Gorge (1 3/4 miles), Gaping Gill (2 1/2 miles) and finally the summit of Ingleborough Mountain (4 miles). The respected plantsman, plant collector, artist and writer Reginald Farrer developed an early passion for the outdoors here as a young boy, and some of the exotic plants he brought back from exotic locations such as Burma and Ceylon live on in the trail. The great author Alfred Wainwright described this route up Ingleborough as "the finest of all, a classic". A small charge of £2.50 per Adult & £1.00 per Child is made for the upkeep of the trail.
