"Live from Jodrell Bank: The Transmissions, are a series of one day shows taking place on an outdoor stage in the shadow of the iconic Lovell Telescope at The University of Manchester's Jodrell Bank Observatory. Previous Transmissions featuring The Flaming Lips & Elbow have been national award winning for innovation and creativity. Featuring a diverse array of internationally renowned musical artists alongside interactive science activities organised by Jodrell Bank with projections on the 76 metre high Lovell Telescope, it's a show like no other."

Access guidance
- The concert at Jodrell Bank is held in a flat green-field site adjacent to the Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre. There may be some grass areas that are uneven. The ground leading from the disabled car park to the main arena entrance is hard standing. There are no hard standing pathways in the Main Arena itself.
- An accessible car park is located as close as possible to the Main Arena entrance (about 250m). The ground is level and hard standing. There is a 50m grass pathway leading from the Main Arena to the Science Arena. The Science Arena is held on a flat park area with some accessible pathways around the perimeter.
- There will be a stewarded accessible toilet located beside the viewing platform in the Main Arena. A viewing platform wristband is required to gain access to this toilet. There will be other non-stewarded accessible toilets in the Main Arena and Science Arena. Please note there are also accessible toilets within the buildings at Jodrell Bank.
- We welcome assistance dogs onto the site. There will be an area provided for toileting and drinking.
- We provide all disabled tickets with a ticket free of charge for a personal assistant. Once you have brought a full price ticket, please fill in the access requirement form, found here and provide us with documentation (DLA or similar) in order to receive your personal assistant ticket.
- There will be general warning signs around the Main Arena if strobe lighting will be used. Due to the nature of the artists it is likely that strobe lighting will be used throughout the performances. There will not be warning immediately before a period of strobe lighting. There will be a First Aid tent located beside the Main Stage. This will be visible within the Main Arena. There will also be Medics and First Aiders on patrol around the event.
