Access guidance
- Wheelchair access to the Lower Gun Deck is possible, allowing individuals with mobility restrictions to participate in the DVD tour offered. The availability of this access may vary, but audio guides are provided to enhance the experience for all visitors. The accessibility measures for wheelchairs on the ship include leaving them on the upper deck and offering a manual wheelchair for visitors to use on the main gun deck. Additionally, there are staff members available to assist visitors throughout the ship, ensuring a smooth experience for wheelchair users.
- Whilst the military base does not allow animals on site generally, an exception is made for assistance animals and guide-dogs who are permitted in all areas.
- We understand that some visitors may have limitations or require additional assistance during their visit. Therefore, we provide access to restriction discounts, complimentary carer tickets, and on-site support to ensure they have an enjoyable experience. We offer carer tickets free of charge if you would feel more comfortable bringing someone to support you in your visit. We particularly recommend this for visually impaired visitors to help them negotiate some of the uneven flooring and difficult spaces.
- Our staff is happy to provide alternative formats such as audio transcripts or large print text upon request.
- We would like to inform you that our Audio Visual Experience does not include subtitles and may contain scenes that could be dark and upsetting for certain individuals.
