Access guidance
- There are seats available around site and in most of the major venues.
- The Accessible Camping Area (ACA) is a flat camping area close to the main festival site with a layout that allows clear access into tents. It is intended for disabled people who would find it difficult to camp in the main public camping areas. As the ACA is a space that is tailored to suit the needs of those camping there, we ask people who wish to camp in the ACA to apply in advance, the application form can be found on our website. The area is flat with vehicle access and has accessible toilets and showers and a wheelchair charging point inside a marquee. For more information, please contact us or visit our website. If you would like to pre-book a mobility scooter, please contact Shopmobility by email on mhshopmobility@gmail.com or by phone on 0116 305 2343. There are viewing platforms at the Main Stage , Kamikaze and Chai Wallahs. Due to the space available, we ask that you bring a maximum of two people with you. For more information, please visit our website. There is a recharge tent in the ACA for wheelchairs and all other accessibility and medical aids.
- We do have a small number of car parking spaces very close by (across a fire lane) for those who really need their cars close to their tents throughout the festival for medical reasons, and there are other parking spaces a short distance away for the rest. If you apply for a blue badge parking space using the form on our website, you can offload in the ACA and then park nearby.
- There are accessible toilets on-site, which will be locked with RADAR padlocks. Please bring your RADAR keys with you. If you would like to borrow one, please contact us. There is also an accessible shower in the Accessible Camping Area.
- Access Card with '+1' symbol accepted as proof of entitlement to a free essential companion ticket.
- We have large print versions of the site map and timetable available at the ACA and the Info Point.
- We have a BSL interpreter available on call during the festival. Let us know in advance by emailing accessibility@shambalafestival.org if you require this service. We will also have some signed performances.
- We supply a medical fridge and safe storage in the Medical Tent. For more information, please visit our website.
