Access guidance
- The Stephen Joseph Theatre has level-access to the Box Office and a wheelchair lift to the shop. There is passenger lift access to The Round and McCarthy auditoria. There are designated wheelchair spaces in both theatres, easily accessible from the lift and next to an accompanying seat for your escort. Front row level-access is available for many shows on request. Please note: many seats in The Round and The McCarthy involve climbing or descending stairs, please advise staff when booking if you have any specific seating requirements. - Assistance Dogs are welcome to stay with you in the auditorium or can be looked after by a member of staff. Please inform the Box Office that you will be bringing an assistance dog.
- Induction loops are provided in both auditoriums for customers with hearing aids. The Stephen Joseph Theatre provides regular captioned performances where the spoken word on stage is converted into text and displayed on a small screen hung above the stage. Audience members who are deaf or hard of hearing can follow what is being said and by whom. Sound effects are also included. Please state at the time of booking that you require a seat with a view of the caption box. Some of our films screenings will be open captioned to enable Deaf or hard of hearing customers to enjoy the cinema. Captioned screenings will be highlighted at the time of booking. Some performances will have a sign language interpreter translate the show into British Sign Language. Please ensure you notify box office when booking your seat if you require this service as there are optimum seats that you will need to sit in in order to enjoy this experience fully.
